Award-winning Jones Bros has amassed decades of experience at the forefront of some of the largest and most complex energy projects in the UK.
Our highly trained and skilled workforce excel at managing the logistics of working over large expanses, in remote areas with challenging weather conditions.
On site in partnership with Cambrian we can be the single point of contact for cementitious products - from laying stabilised roads, to delivering and commissioning an on-site batching plant. We can also quarry and process the required aggregates either on site via borrow pits, or within local quarries to produce and deliver high quality concrete.
We understand the specific requirements of projects within this growing sector. For example, the challenges involved in the construction of access roads to accommodate substantial loads, turbine foundations, substation buildings and electrical infrastructure.
Our biggest wind farm contract to date involved 76 turbines (228MW). Cambrian’s batching plants ensure maximum flexibility while also preventing many heavy vehicle journeys. We further constructed a £1m eco-control centre at another of our wind farm sites, which was delivered within schedule despite delays caused by the worst winter in 50 years.
We are a recognised leader in the sector and have established a strong presence throughout the UK. With successfully completed projects such as the £17 million Kennoxhead Wind Farm in 2022 with the design and construction of 13 reinforced concrete turbine foundations and 30km of High Voltage (HV) cabling.
We are currently undertaking the construction of one of the UK’s largest battery storage projects to date. The 230MW battery energy storage system (BESS) scheme will be operational in Uskmouth, South Wales.
Our team’s energy expertise was also utilised for the onshore infrastructure for innovative and renewable Anglesey marine energy project, Morlais.

We have significant experience in providing onshore infrastructure to the offshore renewables industry, including for the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank.
The £63 million project is also the first wind farm in the UK to use high voltage direct current (HVDC) technology due to its distance from shore. The HVDC route comprises of 32km of cable ducting and installation to allow the efficient transfer of electricity. This is the largest single contract we have delivered to date, and we are proud to be involved in the immense scheme.
Jones Bros was further appointed to prepare a site for the construction of the onshore converter platforms for both Sofia Offshore and Dogger Bank wind farms. Works carried out included providing load bearing working platforms for the converter stations, two new road access points, welfare and storage areas, a drainage system, and associated utilities.
As well as delivering our projects on time and within budget, we are especially proud of our health and safety record. For example, we recorded 500,000 hours without a single lost time incident as part of our work on the Dogger Bank Wind Farm.
